| Q. |
What is Care, Custody and Control?
| A. |
ALL standard liability policies EXCLUDE coverage for damage to personal property in your care, custody and control. This means that ANY personal property, including a pet, that is physically within your care, custody or control, is excluded from coverage should that property be damaged or destroyed, due to your negligence.
The CCC Endorsement with this policy allows you to buy back this coverage up to certain limits. This means you will have coverage for personal property and pets in your care, custody and control, up to the limits you select.

| Q. |
What liability limits are available under this policy?
| A. |
$1,000,0000 with a $2,000,000 aggregate(you could have 2 $1,000,000 claims in 1 year, but limited to $1,000,000 per any one occurrence). This is the only general liability limit available. Lower limits are not available because coverage is provided on a group policy. |

| Q. |
I'm thinking about moving back to FL. and was wondering if I can transfer my insurance if I do move. Thank-you
| A. |
Yes. We simply need something in writing from you advising us of the effective date of the move, along with the new address and phone number. |
| Q. |
Do your policies cover 'Pet Taxi' services (transporting pets in my personal vehicle) and if so, what exactly is covered? Do I have to work something separate out with my auto insurance company?
| A. |
Yes. The policy will cover pets in your care, custody, and control, thus whenever a pet is in your care, regardless if in a vehicle, there would be coverage. There is no auto coverage of any kind offered under this policy (no coverage for your vehicle or medical payments for you or any employees), but if the pet were injured in an auto accident, there would be coverage, as he/she was in your care at time of accident. |
| Q. |
I was insured by you for 2-3 years. Then switched to PSA. Now I'm switching back to you(I have staff now). So, is this a new application or a renewal
| A. |
This would be considered a new application. Renewals are for those insured's that have no lapse in coverage in any way. |
| Q. |
Do I need a separate policy from the liablity policy and dishonesty bond to protect me if I suffer bodily injury while pet sitting?
| A. |
Yes, Worker's Compensation Insurance covers you and your employees against work-related injuries such as bodily injury from a dog bite, ect. |
| Q. |
Is there and age requirement on the policy.
| A. |
Must be 18 yrs old or older to apply for the insurance or work in a pet sitting business for the policy to extend coverage. |
| Q. |
I've read & understand coverage, etc. There is debate as to whether sole proprieter needs bonding. Most say no,however believe it gives client/potential client peace of mind to see the word in print. What are the legalities of this situation:to bond or not to bond as the sole proprieter?
| A. |
Great Question! Technically, for a bond to respond, you or your employee or independent contractor would have to be charged and convicted of the theft. Thus, sole proprietors have coverage for themselves, but only if they steal and are convicted of it, would their bond respond. Therefore it is not really necessary to have the bond other than for the peace of mind of your client's. |

| Q. |
I currently have a Individual Policy which I just renewed 8/20/2000. ID #2560. I which to increase it to the Standard Policy to add coverage for independent contractors as additional insured's. How do I go about doing this and what would be the increase in cost. Thank you.
| A. |
To switch to the standard policy from the individual policy, you simply need to send us something in writing to this effect. We will bill you for the difference remaining on your current policy which equates to about $5 per month times the number of months left in your policy term. For example if your policy is 1/1/2000 to 1/1/2001 and you contact us in July to switch, you will be billed $5 X 6 months = $30.00 additional. |
| Q. |
How do you come up with a monetary value for the pet placed under your care?
| A. |
We simply would like you to estimate based on types of pets you are taking care of. For example if you are taking care of basic dogs and cats, then estimate $500-$1,000, if taking care of horses or show dogs then maybe $5,000-$10,000+. This is simply for the Insurance Company to get an idea of what types of pets you are taking care of. |
| Q. |
Can I purchase this policy from my local agent?
| A. |
NO. This is a group program only available to members of NAPPS and PSI through the program administrator.
| Q. |
If your liability insurance protects you for any property that is your care and control. Then it should be covered incase of theft by an agent working in your behalf. Why would carry an additional dishonesty bond?
| A. |
The general liability policy covers property damaged in your care, it does not cover theft. Thus the reason for Employee Dishonesty Bond. |
